
Julia Snider Nickerson is a teaching artist, actor, and facilitator who has devoted the past fifteen years to using theatre as a tool for building healthy communities. While living in New York City and abroad, her work focused on supporting non-native English speakers in developing their language skills through the arts. In every setting, Julia encourages young people to use the power of their voices to build confidence and strengthen social-emotional skills. She currently serves as the Director of the Chicago Avenue Project at Pillsbury House + Theatre, a program dedicated to uplifting the innate creativity of every child in South Minneapolis. Julia holds a Master’s degree in Applied Theatre from the CUNY School of Professional Studies and a B.A. in Spanish Studies from the University of Minnesota.
