Laura Bleakley

Laura Bleakley is a Korean-American collaborative pianist from Honolulu, Hawaii based in Seattle, Washington. She is a graduate of Houston Grand Opera’s esteemed Sarah and Ernest Butler Studio. In addition to Houston Grand Opera, she has worked with Seattle Opera, Utah Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Opera Saratoga, Opera in the Heights, El Paso Opera, and the Moores Opera Center. She has performed on National Public Radio’s From the Top, performed and recorded multiple works for the Aura Contemporary Ensemble, and was featured in Houston Public Media’s Skyline Sessions. She also recorded an album of rare Russian art songs by Pavel Chesnokov and Alexander Gretchaninov for KNS Classical which received rave reviews in the Fanfare magazine. She began her musical career as an organist and received her Bachelors of Music in Organ and Piano performance from the University of Puget Sound. She received her Masters in Collaborative Piano at the University of Houston where she’s currently a Doctoral Candidate in Collaborative Piano. She is currently on the staff of University of Washington’s School of Music as a coach, guest lecturer, and collaborative pianist.
